Kontraks
Social contracting your way.
People make ‘social contracts’ every day. Most are simple agreements with little to no “terms”. What makes them important is the shared social bond between both parties.
Kontrak Social was conceived to add an extra level of safety and trust to these contracts and help people live life on their terms.
Once you have downloaded the app, completed the brief welcome journey, and set your basic profile, we recommend that you create a quick, fun Kontrak with a friend or family member so you can get the hang of it. You’ll soon discover just how easy it is to use. If you do need help just come back to this page, check out our FAQs, or jump on to our YouTube channel for a demo.
Show & Tell: Example Kontraks
If you’re new to Kontrak Social and not sure how to structure your agreements, we’ve whipped up a few examples for you to use as inspiration. These are rough guides only. So long as what you’re doing isn’t illegal, then we’re good with how you use Kontraks.
Remember to always speak to the person you’re dealing with and keep communications clear and open. Afterall, starting from a position of agreement and trust can only be a good thing, right?
How to complete a Kontrak
Once all terms have been met and both parties are happy, you simply tap “complete Kontrak”, sign with a selfie and send it through. Once your contact does the same your Kontrak is complete. Remember, everything within the app is consensual, there is no power imbalance. If everything went to plan, Tally will be happy, and your ratings will go up a level.
What if terms aren’t met and the Kontrak fails?
If things go wrong and the Kontrak fails, you need to mark it as incomplete by hitting “Kontrak failed”. Not only will Tally be less happy, but the rating of the person who didn’t meet terms will go down a level. Which is a bit of a downer (we’ll see ourselves out).
Before you hit that button, speak to your contact first to see if you need to change the terms. Kontrak Social is all about building trust and stronger relationships between people. So, don’t give up unless you must.
Remember that Kontrak Social is only here to help you set the terms on your social contracts. We don’t have any say on how people fulfil their obligations – that’s on you and your contact.
